Default Any one done a head gasket?

Well after changing the water pump and properly bleeding it out as well as I could, ran it for over half an hour and still was getting bubles out< it will overheat from stone cold with in 5 miles. I had a couple of pufs of steam from the tail pipe today (80degree weather). but the plugs do not tell the tale of a head gasket. Any suggestions?

I also need to know what the torq setting and tightening order for the head bolts are.

Thanks.

Did you also change the thermostat? One that is bad and closed will cause that problem. Also, while you did bleed the system, an airlock could still be present causing the same problem...

Just a couple of options before you start tearing the head off...

The torque settings and order are in the e36 Bentley manual and here;

dang that sucks. did you ever notice if your temp gauge moved up and down while you drove before changing the water puump??

well if you're looking for a head gasket kit i have a complete new one i never used. same price as pelicanparts. and a thermostat for half the price. (and no tax )

and i think pelican parts has an article of how to change the head gasket
