The pre wire harness has only one wire for each function. For example Door lock (+). But my alarm obviously has both positive and negative for that function so do I just wire it something like this... Door lock wire on car(+) > Door lock on Alarm harness (+) Door lock on alarm (-) > chassis ground on car (-) if this is wrong help me out also my alarm install book doesn't have a guide for anything prewired obviously so what kind of locking system is our cars I have central locking without any buttons... And finally after dickin around with stuff yesterday I blew the window fuse / replaced it then my airbag light goes on for a few mins then goes out... | | | 12-24-2008, 11:42 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Stamford, CT <-> Boston, MA Posts: 1,393 | Hmmm I don't have the answer to your exact question, but if you're retrofitting the OEM alarm, aren't the cars pre-wired for the factory alarm to just be plug and play? You remove the glovebox & plug in the unit, and hook up the siren under the hood. If you're installing an aftermarket system, all I can say is goodluck. I've heard bad things about failed attempts @ DIY Aftermarket Alarms. __________________ BMWCCA #403399 2012 Mini Cooper S Clubman, 6-Speed Loaded 2001 325xi, Winter Package, 5-Speed Traded 1998 318ti, Active, Automatic, TOTAL LOSS R.I.P. 10/20/08 Bilstein Sport Shocks/Struts . (which makes up for pins 9 and 10 as well as 6 because its only 2 door ) Anyways If someone could give this a quick look over and tell what right/wrong that would be great.. thanks PS if I can figure this out I'll make a beat DIY as I can't seem to find any for any aftermarket alarms | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | Similar Threads | Thread | Thread Starter | Forum | Replies | Last Post | OEM Alarm | juan.manjarres | Electrical | 1 | 12-22-2008 02:40 PM | Alarm L.E.D | albi901 | Electrical | 7 | 04-24-2007 04:30 PM | WTB alarm | evalha007 | US and North America | 1 | 09-23-2006 09:37 PM | ALARM ANYONE | HuGo | US and North America | 5 | 02-06-2006 09:43 PM | Alarm? | Laxpunk2006 | Electrical | 1 | 07-08-2005 02:02 AM | |
