The thing with this car is that it used to be tuned. I dont know what was all done to it. But by the time i got it, it seemed like they started to part out the mods. All that remained were the aftermarket plug wires, and stromung exhaust. Along with a 3" drop, 17" BBS wheels, and its sport package. I installed a new headliner with a new sun roof assembly. Had some cosmetic repair and now it needs turboed. I believe it still has the dinan ecu upgrade but have not investigated it further due to it being away at the autobody garage. New front end too, M3 front clip, halos, HIDs fog and low beam. I am down for a trip to Florida. | | | 09-09-2013, 03:11 PM | #321 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2008 Location: Central Florida Posts: 678 | Well, it's time to part with my ti T... bought a new car last week and need to sell the little guy. Anyone in Florida that's interested hit me up. John thank you for all your help, the set up brought new life to the car indeed. __________________ 2LT Rodriguez CA ARNG TURBO 96' Sport, Alaska Blue, Auto Custom JohnBoy Turbo, Midnight-Tunning Software, HKS BOV, e-Pod Gauge Pod, BavAuto Springs, Bilstein Sport, e30 3.73 LSD, Depo P36, Apexcone 55w HID, OEM Spoiler, M3 Lip, M3 Mesh Grill, Crossdrilled Rear Rotors, M3 Front Brakes, Sparco 3 point Harness, Euro M3 Wheel, K&N cone, Clear Corner/Sides/Tails, M3 Center Console & Arm-rest, M3 Red Cluster Needles, M3 Mirrors & Side Skirts, RD Exhaust, DS-1 wheels!... | | | 05-03-2014, 01:36 AM | #322 | Member Join Date: Oct 2013 Location: usa Posts: 39 | Hi everyone, my girlfriend's the new owner of Yoda's car. I just wanted to give everyone who was following or subscribed to this thread what the current status of Yoda's car is. It is currently still being daily driven without any major issues, and just recently rolled over 205K miles. The overall setup has been great, and I've only managed to find very few areas to improve in. I'll post more later regarding what changes I've made since my GF's owned the car. I'm really glad/thankful for this site, and John has been nothing but helpful in answering some of my questions about the car. I took the time to read your turbo build, and am very impressed! I own a '98 Z3 Manual Trans M44 1.9L, and am very serious about going FI (Turbo). I live in S. FL but would be willing to drive to you. I have limited internet now and need to stay out of trouble 100% or I will be in a little more trouble. | | | 06-27-2014, 12:09 AM | #326 | Member Join Date: Oct 2013 Location: usa Posts: 39 | JohnBoy, what kind of fuel pump is in Yoda's car? It recently gave out, and I replaced it with a spare fuel pump he gave me. I'm just wondering because the car is starting to have symptoms that I noticed with the old pump before it gave out. I'm wondering if this factory pump is sufficient? | | | 06-28-2014, 06:44 PM | #327 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: Gulfport, Florida Posts: 3,208 | Factory pump is fine for fuel demands. Check pump relay or just replace it since it is cheap. Check pressure to ensure regulator is good. You need 42-48psi fuel pressure to work with the turbo code that that Barrie (MidNight Tuning) donated and I flashed to your DME. If needed call me again I have another new number so 727 686-6288 is where to reach me for now... I'm currently finishing up a head replacement on a M52 then my driveway "Shop" will be available | | | 06-29-2014, 08:30 PM | #329 | Member Join Date: Oct 2013 Location: usa Posts: 39 | Well, if I replace the pump again this will be the 2nd time I replace it in the past 1-3 months. I'm surprised a stock pump is sufficient. Most people would upgrade to a Walbro 255 or something of that nature. I noticed that when it doesn't start, it starts up as soon as the gas pedal is pressed while cranking. I'll have to holler at you sometime and chat about it. | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Thread Tools | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
