Default intake manifold gasket?

Is this a discontinued part? I am very upset because i've gone all week w/out my car cause of the LAST (fingers crossed) oil leak. And my mechanic says he cant find a place to get the intake manifold gasket.... Why would they discontinue it on a 1997?? Any ideas where I can get one?

I have one in my hands right now, picked it up like 3 weeks ago from the local BMW dealership. $10 if I remember correctly.

i just talked to mech. again, and he's tellin me the one he pulled off the car was the paper/type gasket, and the one their sending him is tin. And the tin one doesnt have the hole for the egr valve... Should he drill one in cause he's ordered this part from 3 different places and its all the same thing....

Im not sure which one it is from that drawing...

im done bringing it to my mechanic buddy... I brought it in there on monday for this oil filter housing o-ring. It is now friday and not once did they call me and say we're having trouble finding this gasket. I heard it from a mutual friend at work when i went in to pick up my paycheck. I call one place and find the right gasket... So get this, When i dropped the car off, he said he'd have the parts by tuesday. So i went in tuesday, he said tomorrow, i went in wednesday, he said tomorrow, thursday i called, said FRIDAY it is for SURE.... So today I called and confronted the gasket problem...... First thing monday.... Im at wits end w/out a car and they dont f**king have any consideration for the fact that i work and go to school every single day. I drive at least 40 miles a day and going a full week w/out a car is hell.... Now im supposed to be stuck up sh*t creek w/out a paddle for the rest of the weekend + monday..... I'm fed up!!!!!!!

My gasket doesn't have a hole for the EGR valve, are you thinking exhaust manifold?

My gasket is a thicker kinda cardboard type, not full tin, but it might have tin in it.

I just changed mine about a month ago. I had no problem getting the parts. I did the entire head though, and got the complete set for it. The one I took off was paper/fibre material, and I had what looked like the exact same thing to put back on. For what it's worth, I just got mine from one of the local parts stores, not the dealer.
