Default Tranny Swap Help!

So my 96 ti is an auto right now, but i have a zf tranny out of a 97 M3 will this tranny bolt up to an M44 engine with no problems?

the transmission will bolt up, the driveshaft is going to be where your problem is, if I'm not mistaken those have a 6-bolt flange on the transmission where the ti has a 4-bolt flange, I don't remember if you can swap flanges or not though

yeah it will be the problem.. if im not wrong you get the front end of the m3 shaft and the back end of the Ti and put it together

it will work. you will have to have the front piece of the drive shaft from the M3 or 328 and connect it to the rear ti shaft. i didn't have any fitment issues when i did this.
make sure you have the other necessary parts to finish the swap. if you have issues for the wiring hit us up

Check list: S52 swap, manual transmission swap, 3.25 LSD with M Coupe diff cover, SuperSprint muffler, M3 style mirrors, AFE intake, ASC delete, M50 Manifold swap, UUC strut bar, ZHP lighted knob, Vaders, M-tech interior, OEM armrest, AC Schintzer front lip, AC Schnitzer rear spoiler, Roof spoiler, 18'' rims, M3 front drilled brakes, LED interior lights, 3 spoke Euro style steering wheel, OEM roof spoiler and bike holder, Thule fairing, Euro tail lights, oil pressure guage, carbon fiber hood painted to original paint (still showing CF weaving), what's next to do...?

No you can't use the M3 diff or any E36 6 cyl diff because the mounts are different. You would hv to get a medium case diff from an E30, E28, or E24 6cyl diff. You can also a Z3 diff as well.

hey guys, i am just not get around to swapping the trannys, do i need any reprograming on my ecu once the the ZF is install, since i am going from an Auto to a Manual?

^^^ this is where i am hung up also. i have been under the assumption you just pop in a manual trans brain, but i have heard that there is no manual brain???
