Is that correct? or is it just some more bs sites put up? | | | 10-20-2004, 01:31 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Well if you compare a 1998 328is to the above link, both have the same part number. The two are not interchangable. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 10-21-2004, 01:19 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: New Jersey Posts: 363 | Ooo alrite, thanx man. Has anybody ever tried modding their lenses on their taillights so that they're using LED lights instead? I've seen somebody do this before for their CRX (yes...i'm an ex-CRX driver ). http://www.copperpenney.com/crxsite/...ke_lights.html I don't want the exotic 'circle' look necessarily...just something that looks more up-to-date with today's Beemers...I was thinking of using the crystal clear/red lens and mod the internals... Something similar looking to: http://www.eurostarus.com/bmw.html (2nd one down)...but fits the ti! what do you guys think? motorwerk | | | 05-27-2005, 04:12 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: madison, WI Posts: 402 | Quote: Originally Posted by motorwerk Hey 318ti'ers! If you find a LED bulb that has no polarity it might work. | | | 04-17-2007, 12:10 AM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: state college, pa Posts: 3,431 | Quote: Originally Posted by magman Sorry guys, I have tried this and all the BMW's tail lights has reversed polatity and will drain your battery, tried all ways but di not get it to work. And the fix would just be to swap leads. __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | 04-18-2007, 01:45 PM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: OKC, Oklahoma Posts: 387 | anyhbody know were toi get teh m3 look alike tail lights! | | | 04-19-2007, 10:38 AM | #15 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Bremerhaven, Germany Posts: 977 | Quote: Originally Posted by aceyx You sure about that? Quote: And the fix would just be to swap leads. | That could be a bit of a challenge if the LEDs are socketed: you might then have to make up a special lamp carrier or chop up the tail light traces. Are there any socketed, automotive, LED lamps that will light off either polarity, that is, AC? | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
