Picked up a lovely little 318ti the other day for pennies and I love it! Was filthy inside and out, but not so much now. Have already taken the cone out of the airbox. I have new boot struts and a better steering wheel coming, as well as plugs and stuff for oil and filter change. There is a small bit off bubbling on nearside rear arch, looks like someone tried and failed to sort that. It's done 163,000, so should the chain tensioner be looked at please? All in all I am well happy with it. Seems all good at the moment but early days, so fingers crossed. Here's some pics . Steve. Very nice! 163,000km I imagine. Normally not, tho why do you think it might need it? Thanks for sharing pics! I suspect you will have lots of fun... __________________ 1998 318ti Sport - "Cali" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, Cali top 1998 318ti Sport - "Max" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, S52 1997 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior 1995 318ti Active - "Blanca" Alpineweib III/Schwartz leather interior Other Current Bimmers: 2006 530i / 2000 2.3L Z3 / 1997 1.9L Z3 / 1999 540it 1997 318ti Sport - "Huera" - RIP 1995 318ti Active - RIP 1995 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Sold 1994 325i Sedan - "Jade" - Sold 1991 318ic - "Bert" - Sold 1985 635csi sold 1984 533i "Max" Sold 1984 318i sold BMWCCA #160411 SUPPORT 318ti.org! Also, it is in miles as I am in the UK, but would be better if it was KM lol Been fun so far. Got stuff arriving over the next few days :-) Already changed the gear gaiter, the old one had a hole. Waiting for steering wheel and tailgate struts plus some service parts as well. All good :-) | | | 02-13-2015, 04:41 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2010 Location: Wichita Falls, Texas Posts: 1,364 | Welcome. You've done a nice job of detailing the car. If your timing chain isn't making any noise and you don't have any driveability issues I would leave it alone.
