Default Feeler: Possible Group Buy: Technique Tuning Stage 3 software for DASC

I'd like to see how much interest there is before going to NickG.

Stage3:
Stage3 ups the ante further than Stage2 by replacing the stock mass air meter with a larger unit and an ITG air filter. The larger meter uncorks the system and allows freer breathing. A power gain of 7.5ft-lbs and 17.5hp at the rear wheels vs. stock programming has been seen. Again, the DME has been custom programmed to work with the larger injectors and larger mass air meter. If you are looking for ultimate power from your system then this is the kit for you.

Price is not listed but Stage 2 is $850 so it's probally a grand if not more.

Probably. It seems worth it to me. Now that I can see my AFR all the time, I really want it.

I'm just trying to get a list of people that *might* be interested. I don't know if NickG would even do a group buy. I want to know how many people are interested before I ask.

Thanks!

I'm not saying it's not worth it,if i had a DASC i'd be down for it. I was on the site last week and i noticed there was no price for stage 3 just on 2. I was just trying to throw out a price ranger for people. But if there is a group buy then the price would be a little cheaper.

I think Nick chose to leave the price off because the Stage 3 kit can be customized a bit. For instance, I already had a 3" HFM (stock unit off of my '95 M3), so I saved some cash by buying the kit without the HFM included.

It sure was nice being able to yank the RRFPR, the related plumbing, the injector air bypass junk and the DISA valve. Plus the car runs way smoother, especially at part throttle.

BTW, DASC/check valve/Stromung vs. DASC/10 psi pulley/TT Stage3/Stromung

Chris - Do you have the AFR curve to match that dyno? That is what really impressed me. I'm running a wideband o2 and sometimes it gets pretty lean up top.

Nah, I didn't opt for that. If it were running hot, I'd expect it to heat soak badly and it did three pulls in a row within 1hp of that run. The bigger injectors and better tuning should keep the mixture from going lean.

I will say, stay away from Exxon/Mobil gas, it'll ping like crazy running that junk. It runs fine with Sunoco, BP and Shell though. It was running Sunoco 93 that day. After I do a 108k mile tune up (needs a valve cover gasket and some fancy plug wires) in a month or two, maybe I'll fill it up with Sunoco 94 and redyno with an A/F check just to be sure.

That would be great. The stage 3 from NickG will be my next purchase. Do you know if it's possible for him to rewrite other stuff in the ECU? I'd like the ECU to think it's a manual. I did a tranny swap and I get a CEL with no codes because of the missing tranny.

So you run 10psi with no other additions? I'm running water/alcohol at 4psi, I wonder how Lisa's car would perform with water injection to help cool it. That would make for a good dyno run!
