Default LTW wheel fitment and misc. questions

Im kinda a newbie about tires and wheels and dont really know how to determine if a wheel would fit. Im looking for some 17's and i really like the 5 spoke style but want a wheel that comes in black with a polished rim or just all black.
http://www.turnermotorsport.com/html..._ID=LTW5-WHEEL
those look like exactly what im looking for but im not sure if the offset will fit
Also im assuming the 7.5" is the width but whats the max width these cars will fit if im planning on running a sport suspension
and i know im full of questions but one more
On the bottom drop down menu what does the ET40,ET41,E43 mean?

that's the offset, I think ET40 would fit but I'm pretty sure that's the limit, as for what width would fit, I'm not sure

"ET40" is a wheel with a 40mm offset. Stock E36 wheels are 5x120 bolt pattern with an offset in the range of ET38 - ET42. The 8.5" wheels should fit just fine, because they are the correct offset for the car.

ok thanks so when people experience "rubbing" in their fender walls is this caused by an offset that is too large or wheels that are too wide?

I have the 17x9" version of the LTW5 mounted on my 332ti with 255/40/17 tires. I needed a 10mm spacer in front and rolled all 4 fenders.

I think that the 17x8.5 would work nicely with 235 fitment. You may still need a spacer up front tho.
