Default Brake Upgrage - Piston looks shot

The inside of the piston looks quite rusty although i haven't had it blown out yet.....

they were from a 92 325i coupe wih 90,000.....

Suggestions as to where to go? should i go buy re-man's from Gand Swedish?

If the dust cover looks good and the piston isn't seized I wouldn't worry about the rust on the external surfaces. Kind of hard to advise whether it really is OK without the piston out of the caliper.

it's the machined surface that you can't see without blowing out the pistons that's important, not the inside of the cup. i had them powdercoat the inside of the cup and the exposed lip when i had mine done, but that's just because i hate rust, not because it affects brake performance or reliability. as mickd said, you really need to get them blown out to know if the pistons are good or not. mine looked like crap when i first got them too

can get it done tomorrow when the subframe mounts are fitted. new rear brake lines, and inspection one are done.
