Question Valve cover removal

Hey guys just a quick novice question. Looking to clean all metal parts in the enginebay, just wondering how easy is it to remove and put back the valve cover? i.e. does it have to be to a certain torque when put back on, or can i just tighten by hand?

Any feedback appreciated, Thanks for looking!

I'm sure it does have to be a certain torque, a shop manual would tell you what

also, you need to replace the gasket once you remove the valve cover

14 newton meters IIRC. If you take it off you would be stupid to not replace the valve cover gasket.

If the cover is anything like a M52 cover, you risk cracking it when you remove the old gasket.

How would you crack an m52 valve cover when you remove it...I have changed a few m52 valve cover gaskets i don't see how its possible to crack it.

that why you don't use an air hammer to remove the gasket
