I just got my 1996 318ti. I am in graduate school at UGA and this beauty is a dream, it drives great and is wonderful on mpg (which was the #1 reason for purchasing). I have a question for you guys about some things i can do to increase my mpg. I cant find a conforti chip for it and Dinan says i have to go to atl to get the computer program from them. Do you guys know of anything else that is cheap and can increase hp and mpg. Anyone know of any other kind of software or chips i can do to increase mpg?

There are no chips for 1996+ year model cars with OBDII. You have to reprogram the ECU which requires the dealer to do it, or for it to be sent to dinan, and they do it. I also wouldn't expect that much of an increase in MPG with a modded ECU. i think it would. that extra amount of revs and quicker response is greta to have. i wouldnt mind doing it down the road. __________________
