I am in graduate school at UGA and this beauty is a dream, it drives great and is wonderful on mpg (which was the #1 reason for purchasing). I have a question for you guys about some things i can do to increase my mpg. I cant find a conforti chip for it and Dinan says i have to go to atl to get the computer program from them. Do you guys know of anything else that is cheap and can increase hp and mpg. Anyone know of any other kind of software or chips i can do to increase mpg? zack p.s. i am going to post some pics of my new ti before and after tell me what you guys think. | | | 01-23-2008, 05:18 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Florida Posts: 2,525 | There are no chips for 1996+ year model cars with OBDII. You have to reprogram the ECU which requires the dealer to do it, or for it to be sent to dinan, and they do it. I also wouldn't expect that much of an increase in MPG with a modded ECU. If anything, you'll get less because the power curve is improved and you will spend more time "getting on it." | | | 01-23-2008, 06:44 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2007 Location: LA, Bellflower, CA Posts: 3,613 | yeah. what mohaugn said. gotta go to the dealer and get it reflashed. it runs about $300-$350. __________________ -Theta Chi- Float like a cadilac, sting like a BIMMER .... my socket is just too thick and won't fit in the hole! damnit! It also raises the rev limiter and improves throttle response. | | | 01-23-2008, 11:14 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: OKC, Oklahoma Posts: 387 | so will it be worth it? | | | 01-23-2008, 11:17 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | i think it would. that extra amount of revs and quicker response is greta to have. i wouldnt mind doing it down the road. __________________ -Josh Sold-1995 318ti, Club Sport, Hellrot Sold-1996 318ti, Active Model, Boston Green Current- 1995 318ti, sport model, schwartz | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
