Default I finally got it!! Woo hoo!

So... the car I was looking at about a month ago.. the white '99.. it came back up for sale. I got them down to $7800, and I grabbed it.
I went on my lunch hour today to get a loan, picked it up after work and drove it home!!
I'm so excited, I love this thing.

It tripped me out when I turned on the radio.. it tells you the freakin' artist and song name that's playing! I've never seen that before!

No pictures yet.. it's dark, and the only digital camera I have is on my DV camcorder, and it doesn't have a flash..

One question.. I noticed in the trunk, theres a little nub-thingy that says "wired for compact disc" ... is there a jack somewhere to plug a CD changer into?

That would be RDS (Radio Data System). I think all new BMWs have it and I know some GM cars have radios that support it as well. It's nice and handy too if you hear a song you like but don't know the name of it or the artist. Only thing I can think of though is I don't think all radio stations broadcast that data, so you may see some stations where you don't see that information.

Oh yeah, congrats on the car. Seems like a lot of Tis getting purchased recently and their new owners finding this site. Waiting to see some pics of it tomorrow.

Is there anywhere to pick up the cd changer other than the dealership?
Is it proprietary BMW or generic?

I'm trying to keep the car as close to stock as possible for now (i know it's not gonna happen.. I'm too addicted to modding cars) but.. I want to try to keep the stock head unit.

Congrats on the new ti! Now get some pics up for us to check out. Sometimes it's cheaper to buy a new headunit and cd changer for the price of a genuine BMW changer. Shop around and see if you want aftermarket or BMW stock. If you keep the BMW stock headunit then you can change out the speakers to enjoy better music.

lol, I like how the light flashed off the front bumper, reminds me of those edited flashes off gold teeth in the movies (and despite looking for about a half-hour I couldn't find a single smilie with gold teeth)
