Depends on the replica but they very well could be of worse quality and weigh more. OE contours, I think, weigh around 22lbs. The M3 was given staggered wheels in '96 to give the car more understeer from the factory. The '95s had non staggered 17x7.5" wheels. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 12-17-2009, 03:59 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2009 Location: Charlotte / Thomasville NC Posts: 240 | hmm, I would be interested in a set of replica contours for cheap DD wheels. where are these sold? | | | 12-17-2009, 04:02 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | AT Italia makes them but they're no longer sold in America, you can sometimes find used sets though | | | 12-17-2009, 10:18 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2009 Location: Baltimore, MD Posts: 130 | would the replicas have bmw on there anywhere imprinted? | | | 12-17-2009, 10:52 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2009 Location: Baltimore, MD Posts: 130 | understeer? i can see how having a wider rear tire would give the car more traction but why understeer? and why is having more understeer good? | | | 12-17-2009, 11:39 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Elizabeth City, NC Posts: 3,877 | It's not good, apparently the 95's had too much oversteer for the people who were buying them. For the person who just wants the "top of the line 3 series" understeer is safer than oversteer. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 12-18-2009, 02:16 AM | #8 | Z3 Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Usa Posts: 660 | I love the contours.......... ________ roor bongs Last edited by Bozola; 01-31-2011 at 04:47 PM. | | | 12-18-2009, 05:30 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2009 Location: Baltimore, MD Posts: 130 | thankz for that clear up.... i actually have the style 18's on my sport, but i want a summer set up. what size tires are you running? they look nice man..... i am trying to stay as close to oem diameter as possible. 225/45/17 255/40/17 245/45/17 are some of the tire sizes i am looking at... | | | 12-18-2009, 05:43 AM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | Quote: Originally Posted by MyTi82 would the replicas have bmw on there anywhere imprinted? | no they wouldn't, in addition to not having the ///M badge, they also don't have the little indent ring around the lugs, hard to describe it so here's some pics: OEM reps | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
