Anybody tried that Vinal & fabric spray. I was wondering how well it works on fabric and if it wears off from constant rubbing. I was thinking of getting wet okle seat covers but then my cloth insert on the doors probably wouldn't match the inserts on the seat covers, so i thought about painting it to match. Anybody tried it on the cloth inserts of the seats? (proabably a stupid idea but never hurts to ask) __________________ | | | 07-21-2008, 07:51 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | well i tried a spot on my last sport seats in my green ti and it seems like it wouldnt be to bad but the gloss black doesnt match and the flat doesnt match it well either. i think a semi gloss would be best but i couldnt find semi gloss. are you wanting to redo all the colors? i would recommend a leather dye __________________ -Josh Sold-1995 318ti, Club Sport, Hellrot Sold-1996 318ti, Active Model, Boston Green Current- 1995 318ti, sport model, schwartz | | | 07-21-2008, 08:09 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: state college, pa Posts: 3,431 | We used it on seats for a Jeep YJ so that all the seats would be the same color (cloth seat, vinyl back). Didn't rub off but we let them dry in the sun & heat for at least a day. Actually it could have been more, it took us a while to get the car running. __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | 07-21-2008, 08:56 PM | #4 | Member Join Date: Jun 2008 Location: Chicago Posts: 96 | I was thinking about doing this myself. So, it works ?! Does it look good ?! What I am getting out of this is -- You can't match colors very well, but it does work, and looks decent....... | | | 07-21-2008, 10:15 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2008 Location: Peoria, IL Posts: 256 | Yea i seen it done on one of those shade tree mechanic shows once and they painted a vinyl door piece and it looked really good but the gloss black was very shiny so i could see how it wouldn't match much in the black ti interior. They used a couple of different products with it. One was a cleaner that had 3 intitials for the name (cant remember what) and the second was a primer/adhesion promoter. Looked pretty promising. Anybody else tried it or know someone who has? __________________ | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
