Default window gasket replacement

I decided to replace my window gasket because it had a fold in it and the car has a lot of leaks. On the rear vertical piece, the outer part isn't seating correctly. It's flipped outward with the felt 90* compared to the window.

Any tricks to get this to seat correctly? The original one wasn't glued in, but it looks like I might have to glue it to get it to stay put.

This is the one that goes along the top of the door correct? I helped member "youngnikolai" install one on his car. You need to start in the top rear corner, then work your way forward and down from there. This way it doesn't "bunch up" when you reach the corner. Also, it could just be that the seal is mishaped from being packaged, you could lay it flat and leave it in the sun for a while to "relax" it.

Its the window gasket on the top of the door. The actual seal that the window slides in. I installed it from the top rear corner and went forward, then then did the rear vertical section from that corner down. No obvious bunching. I pulled the door apart, glass and mirror were removed for the install.

If you could just get the inner part to seat in the channel properly, you should be able to roll the window up, leave it for a day or so and it'll probably hold shape. Hopefully someone else could chime in, it's been a couple years since the last time i've dealt with one of these

I used a 1/4" extension to seat it. I might try that and put some adhesive on it. Really annoying, the front part went on fine. I also replaced the dew wipe and broke the rear tab off...actually looked like it had shrunk. Good bit of money for thpse pieces of rubber too.
