Default Fitting front seats in the back

I'm a brand spanking new 318ti owner. Will be picking up the car in Florida and driving back to Texas. I found some good seats I'd like to pick up on the way. Does anyone know if the two front seats will fit in the back with the back seat all the way down?

Thanks in advance guys,
-L

Welcome.

I've never done it, but I just looked at my car and I would say two buckets in the hatch would be an easy fit.

When I first read the title of this thread, I thought you wanted to INSTALL front seats in the back. That's obviously not going to happen. But, yeah, you should be able to get two seats in there. Worst case scenario, you can't close the hatch all the way.

You might look into what it takes to seperate the seat backs from the bottoms. If the seats are folded over forward and there's pressure pushing down on the seatback (i.e., if they barely fit and you squeeze them), my thought is you'll crush the kidney pads... esp. for a long period of time, I would avoid this as it will damage the foam, and probably wrinkle the leather.

Or, instead of folding the seats forward, you could recline them as far as possible, and try to fit them in that way... interesting predicament!

i would fold the seats all the way back.
fodl the rear seats down.
slide your passenger seat all the way forward then recline the seat all the way back
then put on seat on the passnger seat foam side down and buckle it in with the seat belt.
then the other in the back

Dude, I drove home from last Saturday's SoCal meet with a hood in my cargo area! It fit fine, hatch closed completely and I wasn't even crunched at all. I'd say a pair of seats would fit with ease, no disassembly required.
