Camber kit (ordered from bavauto) 5. need a fender roll (already figured) 6.having some trouble getting the stock bumper to fit the mtech cover (any advice?) 7. bought new fuel pump __________________ Eurotary 313ti-Rx coming soon.....soon is a relative term Last edited by Crashaddict; 04-13-2012 at 07:52 AM. | | | 04-18-2012, 05:49 AM | #141 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2011 Location: SoFla Posts: 482 | Getting the engine bay sprayed lsb on Monday, as I will be pulling the engine for cleaning and some final maintenance (fresh injectors, spark plugs) and so the fabricator can extend the existing motor mounts a couple in inches and weld an extention to the steering rack. Also waiting for tires to come in so I can get the wheels on and measure clearances, so I can figure out if cutting into the wheel wells is a possibility( to route the intercooler piping) __________________ Eurotary 313ti-Rx coming soon.....soon is a relative term Last edited by Crashaddict; 04-18-2012 at 05:54 AM. | | | 04-23-2012, 12:20 PM | #142 | Member Join Date: Mar 2012 Location: Chandler, Okla Posts: 52 | So haven't been able to sleep and decided to read this from the beginning lol. This is a very interesting idea and I'm sure I know the answer to this but gotta ask anyways since i didn't notice anyone else ask. Why not just find cheap FB or FC and build it im assuming just cause you had Ti and love the wankel and wanted something unusual lol. Also why use the 13bTT its been awhile back when i was told this so i may have forgotten or misunderstood this but its my understanding even stock they wouldn't last more 30k miles without need rebuilt each time it hit that 30k mark so alot of people would change it to single turbo and get more life out of it? I'm thinking had something to do with the what apex seal they use in the motor. Again im not sure about that so thats why im asking since you know more about these motors. I know to little to late but there is a 3 core radiator in the M coupe I think that will swap right over to the Ti. So if something doesn't fit right or any problem one you got now maybe something to look into. Either way I wanna see what its like when done. I don't how you can call the LS1 a relic but yes it is based on old but proven design and the Rotary isn't exactly new either. LOL sorry about rant but the American idea of performance was main thing that bothered me like saying we are just all the same. Again don't get me wrong here LOVE the Wankel just like the the V-8 and everything else it does exactly what its suppose to do. Also it looks friggin MEAN so far!!!!!! Also it looks friggin MEAN so far!!!!!! | Well the 13B-REW is alot like the S54, it is extremely powerful, but very easy to blow if not treated properly. I think the 30k rebuild idea is a bit of a stereotype. from what ive heard. these motors will go around 120k without a need for new seals if treated properly. And i guess i am just fed up with V8's. its so unimaginative to say "I want a fast car, I know, i will just put an LS1 in it!"....its too easy. And as far as the first part goes I think FB and FC rx7s are just hideous. The FD is a different story, but then again i want something totally off the wall, hence the Ti. The only v8 i would even consider for my ti, would be the S65, which is waay out of my price range __________________ Eurotary 313ti-Rx coming soon.....soon is a relative term | | | 04-23-2012, 05:49 PM | #146 | Member Join Date: Mar 2012 Location: Chandler, Okla Posts: 52 | I got ya now i think the 30k mile mainly came from hard racing so thats what im thinking and kinda assumed you would be pushing this one in same way combine both your loves sound like a good idea to me lol and the FDs are sexy but so expensive to get a decent one had buddy searching for one finally gave up now just getting another rx8. | | | 04-23-2012, 05:55 PM | #147 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2011 Location: SoFla Posts: 482 | ok, some more updates the motor is out for the last time....i hope 1. here is a look at the extensive custom fabrication in the engine bay 2.see familytruckster....this is what the steering rack looks like as of now 3.still waiting on the front tires(slooow shipping), so mismatched rims took me to the body shop 4. dat ass 5. car is at the body shop for engine bay painting __________________ Eurotary 313ti-Rx coming soon.....soon is a relative term Last edited by Crashaddict; 04-23-2012 at 05:58 PM. | | | 04-23-2012, 06:09 PM | #148 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2011 Location: SoFla Posts: 482 | Quote: Originally Posted by POCti I got ya now i think the 30k mile mainly came from hard racing so thats what im thinking and kinda assumed you would be pushing this one in same way combine both your loves sound like a good idea to me lol and the FDs are sexy but so expensive to get a decent one had buddy searching for one finally gave up now just getting another rx8. | oh i will be pushing it....eventually, but i dont realistically need anything more than 300 hp(which can be run reliably) for autocross or trackdays to beat the lotuses and mustangs of the world haha....and honestly, for the price of this project, i could have bought a low mileage "cherry" fd rx7. I like it better this way though....Nobody has one and i dont want to be put into a box at car shows as (sorry) "Cocky Bimmer enthusiast" or "JDM fanatic"....i am instead combining my two favorite cars into a pretty little monster.....that is going to try to eat me some day(no abs, no traction control ) and yeah, idiots blow these motors all the time, but in reality, its not all that much work to fix an "Blown Wankel" its just the apex seals, probably just a grand or 2 to rebuild __________________ Eurotary 313ti-Rx coming soon.....soon is a relative term | | | 04-23-2012, 06:22 PM | #149 | Member Join Date: Mar 2012 Location: Chandler, Okla Posts: 52 | Another motor Q why the 13bTT over the newer 13b 6 port and petite s/c it or turbo.
