LOL yeah, its always good to have a vague idea of the year of your engine XD...at least now i can get the proper Apexi Power FC. On the bright side, it looks like i wont be taking a loss on the unit i purchased for what i thought the engine was as the ebay auction is at break even price with 6 days left

You can get a basic powder gun form harbour freight and they sell black, red, yellow, white powder as well.

I think the hardest part is finding a oven to bake the parts in. DONT use your oven in the house... LOL

The powder HF sells is 225 degree cure if I recall, its on the bottles...

Spray it on and bake. Soda blasting before is a good idea, clean thoroughly.

Aluminum plates make good practice material.

I happened across a diy howto make your own powder oven out of any metal box. i think the example was an old gym locker.

Lemme see if I can find that. It was alarmingly easy and cheap...

Cant find the locker example I read a while back but there is this...
http://www.powdercoatoven.4t.com/

Theres instructions on how to wire it up. you could use any metal box for this, or make your own.

thanks for the input Dave, yeah that could be a problem, i dont have access to anything like that.....perhaps if i stand over it with a magnifying glass for long enough.....LOL
any tips on soda blasting? i know what it means and its purpose, but its not exactly a diy project from what I understand
