Default Ireland Engineering Flywheel

I was on their website and found out they sell 9 lb flywheels for the M44 engine.
The great thing about theirs is that it uses the stock pressure plates, so no need to upgrade to M3 parts. Cheaper than most at $590.00
Is anyone using this set-up?
Want to know your experience.

would you believe in the neighborhood of 34lbs?
Dual Mass Flywheels are for the birds.

Only if it has a 12lb weight on it.

Stock flywheel is 22lbs.

Depends on the driver.....

One thing about that light of flywheel is that you will have to drive it like you stole it, you will have very low pulling torque from a light and on inclines you'll have to rev the bejeezes (technical term) to get moving.

9 is basically road racing weight. For the street I'd consider about 14 to 18 the min range for a daily driver. I think the 22 to 27 lb delta is year to year changes and the Min factory weight by manual is 22.

For drag racing the flywheel should be something like 1 to 2 % of the vehicle weight to get a good launch and hold acceleration through the 1/2 way mark. (All depending on HP and vehicle weight of course....) But thats what works on a V8.,...

looked into uuc, ie and a few others...

finally decided on a fidanza cos i taught it was the best compromise at 13lbs...

i ordered mine about an hour ago.... its only $420.99...

heres the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FIDAN...spagenameZWDVW

you have to use a e36 3.2 m3 clutch but i thinks its worth it in the long run....

What I like about the Ireland Engineering Flywheel is that it is bolt-on, uses stock components. The Fidanza flywheel you bought will need to use M3 Clutch, etc.
