I've searched the internet for ages to find some info for 4-pot BMW's. This is the first forum that has some serious info on performance etc. So my name is Joy, 25 years old and I live in Holland. I'm driving a mauritius-blue 318is coupé. It has done 120000 miles (190000 km). It's just a car for having fun in the weekends so did some mod's. I installed a Supersprint catback racing system. Factory sound was written on the box... yeah right huge impact on the ears. Also fitted Bilstein shocks with AC Schnitzer springs. Very nice balanced. Got rid of the 15 inch wheels and fitted some 17 inch E90 styling 32 wheels. It has a slightly different offset so it gives the car a bit more filled stance. For night-driving, swapped the halo's for 6K xenon. I'm not driving a Ti so I hope that's not a problem. He was a driver of a Sdkfz 250/1(Lichte Schutzenpanzerwagen) or a Demag 1ton halftrack(unarmoured prime mover). He spent the operation doing ambulance duties and moving Material to the forward area. I got photos of him with a 250 in Aachen dated Sept/44 on the back...which is right at Market Gardern which was 17-26th IIRC | | | 08-16-2006, 10:33 PM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2004 Location: Port St. Johns, Florida Posts: 2,242 | Quote: Originally Posted by aparatchik Hey Joy, welkom!! Posts: 102 | Yep, 9/17 is liberation day in Son, when Market Garden kicked off. Your uncle probably ran materials and/or troops to the bridge over the Wilhelminakanaal between Son & Eindhoven, which kept the 101st at bay until 9/18. My mom actually remembers hiding under the kitchen table during the shelling the city received from the germans around 9/19, after being liberated... In the last 10 years I manage to gather all their medals, passbooks, letters, parts of uniforms and most important atleast to me photoalbums, both unit albums and personal. | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
