Without the air bleeds working you could be running a tic rich, not enough to throw a code, but enough to ruin the cat or at least shorten its life...

Ya takes yer chances...

I know I'm digging up an old thread here, but I'm getting ready to start this project and I was just curious if you remember, or if anybody knows, what size the larger hose that runs to the intake boot is? Thanks in advance.

Mine was cracked as well, bought from Tisher for about $8, It has two different sizes on the openings, that's why I bought a new one...

I was just playing around with this today actually. You almost have to order the BMW part as chudzikb mentioned. The two nipples are way different size. 15/32" does fit well over the tree end if you are curious.

catalytic converters are known to smell like rotten eggs when they're on their way out.

I have noticed certain gas stations and lower grades of gas in my Camry cause a bad stink.

Now going on a year with system capped off, plenty of daily driving and a handful of track events. Still no apparent ill effects. The ECU is probably able to adjust for this.

Bumping an old thread. Just dug this one up.
ECpreston, if you are still on the forum, great post, a man after my own heart. Just more places for vacuum leaks.
I will follow your lead.
Thanks for the info.
cheers

heh cool I hope it worked out for you. My friend crashed my car at VIR last year, I hope that wasn't a side effect of this mod!

So far working out great.
My car is running great, my last tank I got 32MPG, and its a lot of fun to drive.
No complaints from me to date.
