I think I may be getting one of these in the near future! I looks like it also protects the oilpan quite a bit cool piece to have | | | 04-11-2011, 07:07 PM | #1098 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Halethorpe, MD Posts: 1,028 | I consider the x-brace to be the single best upgrade to our cars for the money. It's presence is noticeable even in straight-line highway driving and it does provide significant protection to the oil pan. If your car is lowered, it should have one of these on it. | | | 04-11-2011, 08:07 PM | #1099 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2010 Location: Oakland Posts: 187 | I second that, big change for the money. I think all these cars should have one, all mine do. __________________ 96 Schwartz II 318ti M-Sport with M44 *SOLD* 95 Hellrot Red 318ti with S52 Swap (Mine) 94 Boston Green 325i Saloon with M50TU (Hers) 68 White VW Bus Camper (Parts Bus) 71 Pink VW Bus Westfalia (The fixer upper) | | | 04-11-2011, 11:30 PM | #1100 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2008 Location: Los Angeles, CA Posts: 1,464 | What contains about $.20 worth of rubber and costs $107.30 at your local BMW dealer? The rebuild kits for ti rear calipers, that's what. Unfknblvbl. What I don't get, is that BMW's own computers had a list price of $42.XX, but they charged me $53.65 each for the part. When I asked the guy at the parts counter what was up with that, he looked at me like I was from a different planet. I think I'm going to cut the exhaust off again and move the muffler forward. The tip just sticks out too far. __________________ No more ti. | | | 04-12-2011, 12:19 AM | #1106 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Halethorpe, MD Posts: 1,028 | Quote: Originally Posted by zoner What contains about $.20 worth of rubber and costs $107.30 at your local BMW dealer? You can order them from Tischer (getbmwparts.com) for $32.86 each plus around $7.00 shipping. Do you have a BMWCCA membership? Most dealerships give around 20% off list if you do. | | | 04-12-2011, 01:02 AM | #1107 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: MD/PA/DC Posts: 1,629 | That or get them from pelican, or just a local parts store-if they can get them. I think rockauto.com has them too. The CV boot kit from BMW is insane also, like 40 bucks per joint...so 160 for both axles. Rockauto had the kits for 7 bucks each. __________________ No more ti. | | | 04-12-2011, 01:04 AM | #1108 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2011 Location: Toronto Canada Posts: 143 | how does one get a membership? | | | 04-12-2011, 01:41 AM | #1109 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: MD/PA/DC Posts: 1,629 | Quote: Originally Posted by 32styledTI how does one get a membership? | click on the BMWCCA JOIN THE EXPERIENCE ad at the top of the forum __________________ No more ti. | | | 04-12-2011, 01:42 AM | #1110 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Quote: Originally Posted by 32styledTI how does one get a membership? | There is a link to the BMW CCA website towards the top of this page. You don't need to be a members to buy parts from getbmwparts.com. Only if you pick up parts at their location.
