"They claimed they wanted to bring their parents in a couple of hours, and then the young man wanted to see how the convertible top worked," says Rajai Marzouca, the owner of TLC Motors. According to a Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office report, at 3:55 p.m. Wednesday, deputies reported to TLC Motors on East Blackstock Road after an employee said a white male between 16- and 18-years-old stole a 2003 BMW 3 Series convertible. The employee said the teen had been in earlier to test drive a red version of the car and returned later to see the convertible's top retract, according to the report. Deputies said the employee showed the teen a convertible, started the car and lowered the top, then went inside the office. When he returned outside, he saw the teen take off at a high rate of speed, spinning the tires, according to the report. "The door locked, the car was running, the top was down... and he just peeled off and his girlfriend was in the other car and peeled off behind him,"says Marzouca. The report described the suspect having black shaggy hair, wearing a blue striped polo shirt, blue jeans with paint on them and khaki Sperry's shoes. The report also said a short time later a customer called the car lot to ask about someone test driving a vehicle driving recklessly down Old Georgia Road, but the customer could not give any additional information. An employee with TLC Motors told FOX Carolina they are offering a $500 reward for information leading to the return of the vehicle. The stolen vehicle was a 2003 BMW 330ci red convertible with a crack on the back right side bumper. Copyright 2011 FOX Carolina. All rights reserved. | Car they stole . Car they drove up in.
