Default Question for all the Cali top owners

I was searching the web and found this slipstream deflector. Does this come standard with the Cali top or was this an option?

Does anyone have this on their Cali top ti?

Thanks ahead for the feedback.

My 1997 doesn't have the deflector. I think it was MY 1998+. I did read about a retrofit kit here though.

Edit: That pic is from a 1998+ too, seeing it has back headrests.

I owned a 96 cali top and my '99 now. The slipstream makes a HUGE difference in cruising comfort at speed. If you ever disassemble for maintenance it is well worth it. The '99 also came with a one touch open motor but you have to hold it in to close (safety).

Sorry for the resurrection but for those with the slipstream, does it help on highway speeds of 70+ when the top is opened wihtout shaking violently?

Currently I only use the cali top in city driving because it's too turbulent which causes the top to shake and sounds like it'll rip right off any second on highways....

I was doing 80+ and it wasn't ear popping turbulent. I reached up and folded the windscreen and it was a big difference.

Check the yards for folding tops (Cali tops) I found a working one for $42 at a pick n pull. No motor tho...

All good now tho...

Having a roof rack and fairing would certainly help wouldn't it?

did that top happen to have the slipstream install? I"m not sure if 400+ bucks is work it when a $60 bucks double side tape wind deflector provides the same function.... just not the look

Also how does one search a junkyard for a 318ti WITH a california roof? I was trying to use car-parts.com but yea... it's 318ti isn't on the list. I tried other tho but nothing

So, one of my 98 tops was a lead from a member that found a few. This one was in Toledo, OH. A 96 top I saw at pick n pull online was $42, but no deflector or motor. I just looked at the pic and saw it was a Cali.

Just gotta ask folks who are looking too...
