There was plenty of room for the Magnet to protrude into the Insulation Cup. The Screw Holes in the Speaker Frame fit exactly into the 4 screw holes of car body - just needed longer screws. The OEM Wire female spade terminals plugged exactly into Speaker +/- Terminals. Sound quality is excellent to my old ears. Full Disclosure: I have a Bazooka 8" Powered Subwoofer that has excellently complemented the OEM 10-Speaker System. I wired it into the OEM Subwoofer Terminals under the left rear quarter panel. I mounted the Bazooka to the underside of the Trunk Cover Tray to avoid using up the precious little Truck floor space. | | | 07-27-2014, 06:42 AM | #32 | Member Join Date: Aug 2009 Location: Austin, TX. Isn't that front kick panel speaker technically a low range speaker? You replaced that with a 3-way speaker and it was fine? I'm trying to update my speakers in my car as well and I'm having problems finding the right ones. Do you know if we need to find speakers that match in terms of Ohm ratings? Lastly, is there any way you could show some pictures of your bazooka setup? | | | 07-27-2014, 08:41 PM | #33 | Member Join Date: May 2008 Location: Central Illinois Posts: 59 | 1. Yes the OEM Kick Panel Speaker (Nokia LTP 130 40W) is rated at 4 Ohms and so is this replacement Pioneer TS-A1675R. I'd say it's good practice to match Ohmage but it's really down to the Drive capability of your head unit. 2. "You replaced that with a 3-way speaker and it was fine?"...yes this 3-way Pioneer Speaker goes down to 35Hz so it's good. And since it goes up to 31KHz I can hear the highs from the Passenger side unit since it's kinda pointing at my right ear. | | | 07-27-2014, 10:56 PM | #34 | Junior Member Join Date: Jul 2014 Location: Florida Posts: 3 | Quote: Originally Posted by R111S I just replaced the Front Kick Panel Speakers with Pioneer TS-A1675R 6.5" 3-Way 50-Watt RMS (300 watts peak power) 35-31,000 Hz Coaxial Speakers. Is there an open connection to do so? Thank you fo the information as I am looking to go a similar route as you. | | | 07-28-2014, 06:10 PM | #35 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2010 Location: Wichita Falls, Texas Posts: 1,364 | I am very pleased with a Blaupunkt powered subwoofer that fits nicely on the floor with it's trapazoid shape allowing it to snug up to the sloped back seat backs. Should be easy to find on the internet. | | | 07-29-2014, 11:41 AM | #36 | Member Join Date: May 2008 Location: Central Illinois Posts: 59 | Quote: Originally Posted by grace So can I tap directly into the oem amplifier to run a powered subwoofer? There's no connector. I used the supplied Bazooka Wire taps. | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | Similar Threads | Thread | Thread Starter | Forum | Replies | Last Post | Bad Speakers | pavlo1994 | Interior and ICE | 10 | 08-14-2009 04:59 PM | Speakers | BmWwHiPPin | Interior and ICE | 14 | 03-13-2009 06:09 AM | speakers ? | anthonyl | Interior and ICE | 1 | 02-29-2008 02:10 AM | Anyone tried JBL GTO speakers? | planetace | Interior and ICE | 5 | 01-03-2007 02:14 PM | FS speakers and amp | mischief | US and North America | 16 | 07-07-2006 04:42 AM | |
