I found some corrosion on the steel body after I removed the battery box. Acid vented/leaked from the battery and corroded the paint under the tray. It's worth checking it out. I haven't driven it yet, but it starts faster and revs smoother... | | | 06-21-2007, 03:39 PM | #17 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: NJ Posts: 1,625 | I just installed my new 8.5 magnecores as well... feels a bit smoother, but to maximize, I also ordered a new coil pack. | | | 01-15-2010, 05:06 PM | #18 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2004 Location: atlanta Posts: 145 | THANKS FOR THE THREAD ON MAGNECOR AND APEX PERFORMANCE. I JUST ORDERED THE 8MM VERSION W/SHIPPING IS ABOUT $95. I have 190k miles and got a misfire on the 2nd cylinder. I think the boot is cracked and moisture is getting inside it based on a visual inspection. I was cringing to pay $125-150 for regular OEM replacements, so the price and quality of Magnecor was perfect.
