Default Need help replacing headunit

I have a 1996 318ti with the standard OEM/Alpine Tape HU, 200w trunk amp, & 10 speakers. I just want to change the HU & keep everything else stock. I know the wire color codes, will use BMW wire harness & antenna adapter from Crutchfield.

I'm looking at the Blaupunkt Brisbane SD48, which has the choice of pre-amp outputs or standard speaker level outputs. Anyone know which are the correct ones to use with the stock amp? TIA

The Brisbane is fairly retro looking & makes a great replacement HU for the 318ti. I used method #1 for the "-" speaker wires(see above post) & everything works well with the stock BMW amp & speakers. I can use up to a 4GB SD card for MP3 play(newer SDHC cards will not work). Adjusting the display color to BMW orange helps the OEM look quite a bit. I ran a USB cord from back of HU to my console ashtray, I can use any size flash drive & keep it hidden there. IMO a great upgrade for unlimited tunes on a road trip!
