The car got 30-33 mpg on the trip! Better than the 19 mpg I've been getting in the city. __________________ '96 318ti California Edition- Montreal blue '68 1600-2-Caribe blue | | | 12-23-2013, 04:45 AM | #3212 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2009 Location: Detroit Posts: 164 | Finished my C.O.P conversion. First try... That was my muffler. It also blew the fender liner off that wheel, blasted a hole in a bag of rock salt a few feet away and knocked the trim off my bumper. Worth the drive for only $30 dollars and $12 in gas. My airbag light went off after the plug accidentally got pulled out of the drivers seat belt latch, Plugged back in latch and hooked up reset tool-2 Minutes later and that bight red airbag light is gone. After repinning the connector it fired up nice and easy... loud as hell since I have a hollow cat and no muffler... But stable idle and revved clean. Can't wait to get the thing back on the road. | | | 12-23-2013, 10:07 PM | #3216 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Denver, Colorado Posts: 3,212 | Quote: Originally Posted by Colorado318ti Today I drove about 70 miles away (140 round trip) to purchase an SRS reset tool for my 1997 318ti Sport. Looks fantastic, but we will see how it performs over time. | | | 12-30-2013, 07:41 PM | #3220 | Member Join Date: Dec 2013 Location: Europe Posts: 32 | Oil and filter change Front break brake pad change Drive belt change Swapped in some new spark plugs Replaced hatch actuating arms (old ones kept coming down and it was pissing me off) The only thing I have left to do is fix my drivers window. It came off track and I have to figure out why. I bought the little white sliders so I'm hoping those come in soon so I can get that **** figured out. I put about 80 miles on her today. Still leaks some fluid from under the car, but otherwise runs happy. I also peeled the red Plastidip off of the wheels. Finally, some glamour shots around town. You can see them in my build thread. She cleans up well! __________________ 2000 M5 -> 1996 318ti -> 1997 328i Instagram: ndrewchow YouTube: MINIzguy | | | 12-31-2013, 03:14 PM | #3223 | Member Join Date: Sep 2013 Location: Summerville, SC Posts: 40 | Replaced oil filter gasket and bush o-rings. I've sprayed down the front and side of the motor with simple green then brought went to a hand held car wash to clean the motor. Looking good. So much more room to work on the M42 over my M52. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 01-01-2014, 01:24 AM | #3225 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2013 Location: NJ Posts: 373 | Tightened strut tops and some hose clamps to my power steering in hopes to stop some weeping until this summer. I then changed the transmission fluid with new Mobil1 ATF. Finally, I flipped a FCAB bracket around as I realized I had installed it backwards. No more clunking and the transmission is smooth again! __________________ 2000 M5 -> 1996 318ti -> 1997 328i Instagram: ndrewchow YouTube: MINIzguy | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 2 (0 members and 2 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
