Someone mentioned on this forum earlier that you can use a credit card (preferably a discarded one) and pry the emblem up... then use a rag and screwdriver to do the rest of the prying.... You don't want anything that can scratch the paint touching the car..... hense the plastic and rag.... don't forget the rubber grommets that you might need to put the new emblems on.

slip the credit card (or other thin, but sturdy piece of plastic) under the emblem. then, jam a flathead screwdriver in between the plastic and the emblem. make sure your flathead isn't touching paint, only the plastic. try not to move the card or otherwise allow it to rub against the paint.

pry gently, otherwise you're going to have to fetch the plastic pieces. comes out fairly easily though.

Emblem Removal.
The hood or trunk badges on your BMW are pushed into grommets to hold them in place. These grommets are located at 3 and 9 o'clock. To remove a badge use a thin bladed screwdriver and a clean rag. Lift the badge up a little at a time using the rag under the screwdriver to protect the paint. Once you can get your fingers under the badge, pull it straight up. Be very patient and do not rock the screwdriver. Always lift straight up so that you don't scratch the paint.
