It come recommended by Wayne Dempsey, the Pelican Parts guy, who, by the way has an engineering degree from MIT. I think that Wayne's a straight guy who doesn't recommend something unless he knows it to work. I use it in two cars, and I have never had a problem bleeding a system. | | | 05-03-2011, 03:17 AM | #17 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2008 Location: Los Angeles, CA Posts: 1,464 | Quote: Originally Posted by John_in_VA Mix your coolant with distilled water to reduce the amount of minerals you'll add to the system. Cheap! | +1 and for top offs, keep a jug of 50/50 (distilled H2O/coolant) handy. I even keep a quart sized bottle of 50/50 in my car for emergencies. | | | 05-03-2011, 03:18 AM | #18 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2008 Location: Florida Posts: 229 | ok, so i can just add it even though i filled up the system and bleeded it without it already..? | | | 05-03-2011, 03:50 AM | #19 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2008 Location: Los Angeles, CA Posts: 1,464 | Absolutely. It's not going to hurt anything in the short term to not use distilled water, but over a period of time, or if you don't flush your cooling system on a regular basis, hard water can wreak havoc on a cooling system. | | | 05-03-2011, 04:11 AM | #20 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2008 Location: Florida Posts: 229 | i will just see if that really is the problem (hopefully, fingers crossed!) and then i can flush it again.. np ... it should be all sorted now, but im just nervous if i did it right and just about the whole deal.. | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
