What are your thoughts? It is a fairly controversial car...some people love it, some hate it. Personally I think it looks kind of like a 318ti just twice the compact's size. Last summer when I first saw them at Plant Spartanburg, I did not like them too much, but they were still in pre-production and making changes. They also were not allowed anywhere without camoflage stripes. Now that they have a more finalized design (still making changes though) and they are working on producing HEA cars and they have been released publicly and they can be around without the camo, I really like them. They are also insanely fast and handle great. So here is the debate: Horrible idea, or cool concept? Like or Dislike? __________________ 1995 318ti Active Pioneer Speakers [] Aluminum Billet door locks [] ACS Pedals/Deadrest [] ACS Shift Knob / E-Brake Handle [] Clear Corners/Tails/Sides [] Sylvania Exterior Lighting [] Custom CAI [] Dinan Engine Chip [] Dinan Transmission Chip [] H&R Race Springs [] Tokico Illumina Shocks [] BMW X-Brace [] Relocated Lighter Mod [] Custom iPod Mod http://www.cardomain.com/id/robcarync | | | 02-15-2008, 06:26 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2003 Location: cary, nc Posts: 2,259 | __________________ 1995 318ti Active Pioneer Speakers [] Aluminum Billet door locks [] ACS Pedals/Deadrest [] ACS Shift Knob / E-Brake Handle [] Clear Corners/Tails/Sides [] Sylvania Exterior Lighting [] Custom CAI [] Dinan Engine Chip [] Dinan Transmission Chip [] H&R Race Springs [] Tokico Illumina Shocks [] BMW X-Brace [] Relocated Lighter Mod [] Custom iPod Mod http://www.cardomain.com/id/robcarync | | | 02-15-2008, 07:35 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2006 Location: Westfield, IN Posts: 1,335 | i like it i think it would look cool but i mean thats just my .02 __________________ Greg M42 Club member 186 WTB: HELLROT RED CLUB SPORT 95 ti sold but staying in the family. | | | 02-15-2008, 08:20 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | it does have a unique shape to it, but I honestly can't decide, I do think it would look better lowered | | | 02-15-2008, 09:44 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2003 Location: cary, nc Posts: 2,259 | BMW X6 is the first car in the world to offer Dynamic Performance Control. The 4 wheel drive system can distribute power not only to the front and rear wheels, but also the left and right, creating a perfectly balanced and stable car in all driving situations. It would look better lowered without the fender gap, but have fun trying to lower that bad boy! The suspension (along with everything else mechanically) is extremely complicated. The style of the car is just a big, beefy, powerful SUV type vehicle which is why it sits higher the way it is. I am not sure what kind of off road capabilities it has, but I am sure it is comparable to the X5 which kicks ass off of a road. I really kind of want to auto cross one of these bad boys...even though it is considered an SUV it would perform really well. __________________ 1995 318ti Active Pioneer Speakers [] Aluminum Billet door locks [] ACS Pedals/Deadrest [] ACS Shift Knob / E-Brake Handle [] Clear Corners/Tails/Sides [] Sylvania Exterior Lighting [] Custom CAI [] Dinan Engine Chip [] Dinan Transmission Chip [] H&R Race Springs [] Tokico Illumina Shocks [] BMW X-Brace [] Relocated Lighter Mod [] Custom iPod Mod http://www.cardomain.com/id/robcarync | | | 02-15-2008, 09:50 PM | #6 | That's not Millpoint Blue Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: BNA Posts: 3,161 | It reminds me of the Porsche Cayenne... which isn't necessarily good or bad. ;-) __________________ Real men know how to SEARCH! Looks a lot better in person actually. The back end is a pretty extreme design... But the front looks beefy and mean. I'm not sure if anyone has talked about another concept (probably future production car) But take a look at this. The CS concept. This is an extreme design IMO but they may actually build it. I used to work at a BMW dealership and the manager had told me that it is very possible that they will produce these in the nean future. http://www.leftlanenews.com/bmw-cs-concept.html | | | 03-11-2008, 07:18 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | that is sweeeeet! and it looks huge inside! __________________ -Josh Sold-1995 318ti, Club Sport, Hellrot Sold-1996 318ti, Active Model, Boston Green Current- 1995 318ti, sport model, schwartz | | | 03-11-2008, 07:41 PM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Calgary/Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Posts: 379 | Yeah, I love the interior.
