The question I have is: Where should I set the adjustment of the rear shocks to start? Soft? Middle? Stiff? The rear shocks have to be removed to be adjusted and I am just looking for a place to start. Some general info about the car: 3.45 LSD just installed, Koni Yellows, H&R race springs, front x-brace, stock sway bars front and back. Hankook Ventus RS-3's. I have a test & tune coming up in the beginning of May but am thinking it is going to be difficult to adjust the rears shocks at the test & tune sight. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for the help! | | | 02-18-2016, 01:43 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2013 Location: Sheboygan,Wi Posts: 135 | Quote: Originally Posted by joe1602 Just getting ready to install Koni Yellow shocks into my ti for the upcoming autocross season. How do you like your koni's | | | 02-18-2016, 03:18 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2010 Location: Horseheads, NY Posts: 259 | Like the Koni yellows very much. rears are about a half turn from the stiffest setting. I tried to run them as stiff as possible but it jacked the rear of the car way up! The fronts I have set a little less than half way. I was running them about a half turn past halfway until I installed an adjustable eibach sway bar. I have found that I can affect the handling of the car with tire pressure more than the shocks. It will be interesting this year as I am going to 17 inch wheels with slightly wider new tires. My Hankooks already had 2 seasons on them before I installed the new shocks & springs so I am anxious to see what they will do with a new set of tires. | | | 02-18-2016, 03:52 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2013 Location: Sheboygan,Wi Posts: 135 | Thanks much for sharing.Bummer that the rears have to be removed for adjustment,Anoying but whatever.Waiting for koni to have their annual sale so can toss my leaky old ones. Are you going with the hankooks again? Came close to getting them cause can get them bought mounted and balanced for 450 on 16" rims Might give the Bridgestone re71's a try | | | 02-18-2016, 01:29 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2010 Location: Horseheads, NY Posts: 259 | Have not decided what tires yet. I liked the Hankooks a lot but the wheels I am trying to get my hands on are 17x8 and it takes kind of a funky size. 235/40-17. Could not find hankooks in that size. Did find 235/45-17 on tire rack for 103 but not sure I have the room for 45 series tire over the 40 series. Bridgestone make a few in the 40 series but they are much more expensive. I only found 4 tires that size on tire rack. So I guess it depends on the wheels I pick up. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
