Default I am ready for the hate...

I know that "DustenT" was looking at swapping in an SR20 about 1.5 years ago. I was just wondering how it worked out. I am very interested in a BISMO, but there is almost no information out there about them. For those of you who don't know, a BISMO is a BMW with Nissan power-train. I am considering (read dreaming) about either a SR20DET swap or just pony up some more dough and go with the RB26DETT swap. I would love to hear what you all have to say about these potential swaps.

I am open to any and all input ( trust me, I can take it).

Thanks,
Josh

Dusten sold his Ti, never did the swap. As for input, do it. It's your car and your money.

anything can be swapped into anything with enough time, wiring knowledge, welding experience, and money.

If you have all of the above, i say go for it.

but why an sr20? it's a decent motor, but there's better choices IMO if you're going to do something wild.

I think your hardest problems are going to be finding/building a custom driveshaft, getting the tach/spedo/etc to work, etc etc.

bolting it onto custom mouts is the easy part

No hate here, M44 isn't a good engine if you want power, most of us accept that. Do it.

Just throwing this out there..

How long are the proposed engines as compared to the BMW six? I seem to recall that those Nissan sixes are quite long overall.

Just something to check before you get too deep in debt...

While I'm here i Cali I can get some measurements if needed on an RB series engine if needed. A good friend of mine imports all types of Nissan engines from Japan.

I figure it's not a bad idea to check this first.
