Currently I have a 80 amp and I've added a lot of amp drawing devises like 12.6 amps in intercooling fans, 6.8 amps for a turbo oil pump, my Pioneer N3 has 2 large amps driving 10 speakers, lots of digital gauges, logging devises with 2 additional wide-band O2's, etc. Obviously I'm drawing a lot more amps then the factory intended so my question is will a high amp alternator fit our M44. Like the 120 & 140amp? The wires should be good enough to handle it. They're pretty heavy gauge all the way back to the junction box. | | | 07-30-2009, 01:17 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: Gulfport, Florida Posts: 3,208 | Thanks, I think I will go with a 120 now that I have turbo oil pumps and multiple amps and stuff running... | | | 07-30-2009, 02:41 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2008 Location: Raleigh/Charlotte, NC Posts: 1,233 | Wiring should be fine a jess said, I believe they use the same gauges wire on the regular e36 harness which is spec'd for a 120a alt. __________________ -Jeff | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
