I had a 98, don't remember the build date but it did not have them. My 96 does not have them either. __________________ ...steven

I think '99 Ti's came with them...I don't think it was an option. I think that pre '99 Ti's had it as an option...im not too sure about that though... i have a '97 and i don't have them. __________________ 97 Jet Black 318ti Sport. Not so stock anymore!....

I'm working on installing them in my car. They were optional pre 1999. I have the airbags and now the sensors, still need to modify the door panels. I was wondering if the door panel insert that has the little black cover for the side impact airbags can be bought seperately. I don't want the whole door panel, just the part that has the black cover. It would have to be tan leather like mine are now. Can you send a close-up of the door panel, and any info about retrofitting side airbags? Like I said, I have the airbags and sensors, but I think there is a separate control box just for the side impact airbags, and maybe other misc little parts. What I would also like, is to see what the airbags look like mounted, with the door panel removed. Any chance you can do that too?
