started cutting a wooden template to lay over where the back seat and trunk floor cover used to be and ordered 6x6 ft of marine carpet to line it with to clean up the interior , also drilled out 2 of those stupid torq screws so i could finally remove the fenders.also realized the tranny from the new motor is going to be difficult to make work in the alotted hole

I just got home from replacing the plastic coolant fittings on the block and head and all the coolant lines under the intake manifold. What a pain in the ass. I hate coolant. I wish I lived somewhere warm enough to just run water and Water Wetter.

It took me awhile to round up all the parts necessary to retrofit my 98 base ti with cruise control. BMW doesn't stock the kit any longer, and buying the parts separately from the dealer is way expensive. So...got on the internet and the phone and before too long I had all the parts together; totaled up about $400, I think. Then I had to wait until the weather cooled off before my very competent indie mechanic would agree to install and wire the whole thing up. That is a job that I think is a little beyond what I want to tackle myself. I did save him time and me a little money by taking out the glove compartment and the underdash components left of the steering wheel and hang the cruise control ECU, and the control stick. If this project comes in under $750, I'll be very happy. Funny, my base model has heated seats, but came without cruise control. I've been surprised to see the number of sport models that don't have cruise.
