It should not. Did you plug in the air temp sender that is located in the air box?

I'm not sure since I own a "is" but I think there is a air temp sender in the air box that tells the DME how warm the intake air is. If that is disconnected it will run real rich and cause stalling, check your connections. I don't have the stock airbox anymore so I can't remember if it's front, back or side. Maybe someone else can chime in for the ti model but they should be the same

The temp sensor should be on the front of the airbox.

I used RTV to seal my old intake boot that was dry and cracked. Just a temporary fix, sealed it up nicely and the misfire codes never came back. Of course, that's downstream of the MAF sensor, but as long as you didn't get any RTV on the film strip inside of the sensor and you gave it adequate time to cure before driving, it shouldn't affect anything.
