Stalled on me while shifting.... | | | 09-06-2009, 04:55 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: Gulfport, Florida Posts: 3,208 | It should not. Did you plug in the air temp sender that is located in the air box? | | | 09-06-2009, 04:58 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2008 Location: el paso Posts: 125 | i think mine is on the front side of it cuz there is nothing under it...right? it's a 98 | | | 09-06-2009, 05:13 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: Gulfport, Florida Posts: 3,208 | I'm not sure since I own a "is" but I think there is a air temp sender in the air box that tells the DME how warm the intake air is. If that is disconnected it will run real rich and cause stalling, check your connections. I don't have the stock airbox anymore so I can't remember if it's front, back or side. Maybe someone else can chime in for the ti model but they should be the same | | | 09-06-2009, 05:54 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2008 Location: el paso Posts: 125 | hmmm maybe, anyone? my car is just full of little wrong things on it...its real fun to drive when it's working...about 10% of the time | | | 09-06-2009, 05:56 PM | #6 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | The temp sensor should be on the front of the airbox. | | | 09-06-2009, 05:58 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2008 Location: el paso Posts: 125 | cool it is, $.02 on the rtv jess? no offense johnyboy just like all sorts of input to make final decisions | | | 09-06-2009, 06:03 PM | #8 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | I used RTV to seal my old intake boot that was dry and cracked. Just a temporary fix, sealed it up nicely and the misfire codes never came back. Of course, that's downstream of the MAF sensor, but as long as you didn't get any RTV on the film strip inside of the sensor and you gave it adequate time to cure before driving, it shouldn't affect anything.
