Default Bad trunk light switch?

So ive been researching this issue for like a year or so now and have found a temp solution but its not proper and sometimes it fails.

My dome lights will sometimes always stay on when driving and ive narrowed it down to the trunk light witch. Ive adjusted the latches over and over again. What i ended up having to do is make a shim to place in the little cutout area of where the switch makes contact when closed to fill that space. if the shim is to big the trunk wont catch, if its to small the dome lights will flicker and come on while driving when i hit a bump or something. For awhile now ive seemed to for the right size shim (cardboard) but now as of this week i noticed that sometimes my central locking button wont work. if i open the truck and remove the shim then close it again the lock button will work again and then illumination problem comes back. I put the shim back in and the lock button and light problem goes away.

Anybody have any idea whats going on??

Good read. Ive replaced that switch and inspected all the wires leading up to the switch. I can pull the switch out and extra "click" as he states in the thread as well. Maybe this weekend i'll just take the panels off the hatch and lay some new wire.
