Edited for clarity: We were gonna dyno the car about 160 miles north of stockholm, cause dynopacks that can handle 4WD are sort of rare. Once there it became apparent that the power distributor box, which has planetary gears in it making power delivery instant, was too fast for the dyno making the dyno unable to adjust itself. We decided to start rolling homewards and mapping the car on the street on the way home, and when we were approaching a place called Sala we were just gonna head to the gas station and get some E85. There is a pretty long straight when you are getting close to Sala, so they did a quick pull to adjust the fuelmap. After the pull ended we engine breaked and simply cruised for probably 200 meters or so, and just as the driver glanced to the passanger side to have a quick look at something on the laptop a deer decided now was a great time to strike and jumped in front of the car. The driver reacted on instinct and hit the brakes, not sure exactly how hard but from what he can remember it wasn't a full on break pedal to the metal type of braking but rather a firm tap, and for some reason the rear brakes locked up whilst the front brakes barely breaked at all. This made the rear flick out and they went down the ditch sideways, and halfway down the ditch the car was going backwards, hit the slope upwards of the ditch and started to roll from back to front, eventually landing on it's side and flipping onto it's roof. |
