The plug on the back of my coil pack comes loose, so I have to put a big huge zip tie around the coil pack and the plug to keep it from coming loose. I'm still chasing down a "sticky" steering issue, so not planning on doing one of these until my coil pack completely quits. | | | 12-28-2012, 05:33 AM | #17 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Portland Or Posts: 2,666 | Quote: Originally Posted by cooljess76 It's a more direct and reliable ignition source. I didn't know robe30 or whoever had the M44 kit going. What's the damage on that piece? __________________ -'98 318ti -'87 VW Scirocco, 2.0 Motronic swap -'95 VW Cabrio | | | 12-28-2012, 05:51 AM | #19 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Portland Or Posts: 2,666 | Search for "COP kit"... there is a full section on it... I purchased the M42 kit and wired it to the M44 harness with a VW coil harness from the junk yard | | | 02-26-2013, 07:21 PM | #21 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2012 Location: West Bend, Wisconsin Posts: 1,055 | What volkswagen did you get it from? I considered getting an old coil and hacking it apart for the connect on the end of it, anyone tried that? It looks fairly well sealed though. __________________ -Alex 1995 Bmw 318ti - Cordoba rot | | | 02-27-2013, 07:35 AM | #23 | Moderator Join Date: Dec 2006 Location: SoCal318ti Posts: 1,574 | By the way guys, we have an active group buy for the complete kits (including plug & play harness) for $380.00 Minimum requirement was 5 and have reached that number already, take advantage and the group buy will expire on March 2nd.
