Just a quick question (I hope). I've searched (string: "Fog"), and not found the answer. Does anyone know (for certain) what the correct part number is for the factory, non-US, 3-position (Off -- Front -- Front & Rear) fog light switch for cars with the rear fog light? RealOEM lists 61318 353 -503 and -504 as possibilities, but is NOT clear as to which is the US and which is the Euro (I entered the car as both a US and as a Euro model to cross-check). (I believe that -508 is the headlight switch, but that wasn't clear either.) If anyone has taken one of the Euro switches off and actually looked at the number, I'd like to know, so I can look for the right one. An 1156 (brake light-type) bulb in a socket on the inboard side of the driver's side taillight (whichever side you drive on: Left in most of the world, Right in the Commonwealth and Japan). Since there are two such sockets (one on each side) you can also set them up as extra brake lights. When I get around to it, I plan to do both - Drivers side fog, but both bulbs come on if I hit the brakes. I just want to know exactly which part number I need for the foglight switch, because I like things to work as designed, and I'd like to have both of the original dash indicators (green for front fogs, orange for rear fogs) work properly as well. - Eric | | | 08-01-2012, 02:27 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Bremerhaven, Germany Posts: 977 | I think you want the ... 503 part. In your case, you'll be adding rear fog lights to your front ones, rather than the other way around, what most of the world does. You may have to address some American market differences to get everything to work as it does in Europe. For example, you may have to move the front fogs off the rear fog light switch contacts and rewire the front fogs to work with the low beams off. I hope your instrument cluster rear fog light pictogram hasn't been blacked out! That's probably it, then. As for the pictogram, I believe that i noticed it was there the last time i had the cluster out, but of course, I will check again. I have had the entire cluster disassembled, so I can pop through the plastic if there's no hole for the bulb. My factory (M-technic package) front fogs already do work with the low-beam headlights on or off (they turn off when the high beams turn on), and they already do activate the green pictogram.
