My car drives great but has always had a "whine" in lower gears and it quickly changes pitch when I depress the clutch, especially the first inch of travel. It does not change the feel, just makes an annoying noise almost like someone going fast in reverse:
Mwawwww MMWAAWWWW
You get the idea. Another thread mentioned a throwout bearing but I don't know what that really is. More importantly is this reason to negotiate an M3 clutch and light weight flywheel? It would make a nice present for my wifes Bday.
