I had the same problem with a Dinan chip I snagged on eBay for the Club Sport. The good news is that it will work you just need to get the EWS aligned to that chip. The dealer or someone with the proper software can make it work.

Lazoh.. what do you mean it took you a couple of tries? That doesn't make sense

Two things can be happening:

1. EWS alignemnt is needed
2. The prongs on the chip are not making good contact (this is what happened to me)

If it's number 2, make sure that all the prongs are in the slots and that they are making good contact. I had to wiggle and press the chip a few times to get it to work.

If it's number 1, you will need help from someone that know what they are doing.

Anyone else that can let projekt EPik about aligning EWS with the chip??

Is it not possible to just disable the EWS? on my 97 z3 which now has a 1992 m50 i just clipped a wire by the underhood fuse box.
not a big deal if so..the ignition barrel in the ti has been broken for a year, only good for EWS anyway.

Fernando..did you need to align your DME with this chip?

Update... Fernando is an excellent honest seller. The chip will be on the way back to him immediately..so if you are looking for one, hit him up. I wasnt able to keep it if the EWS needed re-aligned, but otherwise there is no issue with the chip.
