Need suggestions on where to find a kit since you can no longer find DASC kit new and nobody apparently has any for sale. Just looking for 6-8psi and suggestions on alternate suppliers. You might be able to find a used supercharger from a miata kit, Mercedes C230, or something. I think the earlier mini cooper S used an MP45. Problem would be making sure the snout length is correct, I'm not sure how easy it would be to modify that. Also, the intake manifold ports can be very different even on similar model superchargers. I guess if you make a custom intake manifold that wouldn't be as much of a problem though. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM Last edited by spidertri; 04-03-2012 at 04:43 PM. | | | 04-03-2012, 05:37 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: Ft Defiance, AZ Posts: 686 | you might have some luck looking on BF or a Z3 forum for a DASC __________________ 1999 BMW 318ti 2005 MINI Cooper S | | | 04-03-2012, 06:12 PM | #5 | Junior Member Join Date: Jan 2010 Location: Wilmington, NC Posts: 28 | Thanks for the tips/help everyone. All custom fabricated so it costs lots of money. Better off doing a 6 cylinder swap. Will also allow for more power down the road too. | | | 04-10-2012, 02:02 AM | #7 | Junior Member Join Date: Jan 2010 Location: Wilmington, NC Posts: 28 | Worried about weight being added to the nose of the car as well... | | | 04-10-2012, 03:52 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2004 Location: Sydney, Australia Posts: 593 | Quote: Originally Posted by imprttuner88 Worried about weight being added to the nose of the car as well... | It makes jack all of a difference. I'm currently running a 6 cylinder engine and a turbo setup with intercooler. The car handles as well as it ever did. | | | 04-10-2012, 06:48 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Fl Posts: 1,353 | Check the rules to see what class you would run with a supercharged ti. Something tells me you will need a lot more than a supercharger to be competitive at even the local level. The ti is a great autocrosser stock! __________________ SUPPORT 318ti.org! I also like the challenge of going with the 4cyl over a 6. I finally acquired a DASC and am looking for options on Meth injection or inter cooler and thoughts of going MS and tuning. Looking for track day reliability as NASA time trials will be this cars end game. TIA!
