It seems like the clutch is slipping but I see the MPH going up quickly. cool! | | | 03-13-2012, 04:08 AM | #304 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2008 Location: Central Florida Posts: 678 | Quote: Originally Posted by bmwconnect This is my first time seeing a Boosted M44 Automatic. Boost controller gives me 10, then it gives me 15, then it gives me 13-14... So I simply look at where it's hitting and I let off enough to keep it steady (somewhat). But the shifts are very smooth... When we were testing yesterday we were pegging it to redline.. with some backfiring, but it shifted smoothly instead of a big crisp jump. We'll try the other EGS to see if there's a difference in how it shifts... and of course I'll have to invest in a GOOD boost controller... the one I have gives me 9psi when closed, then one click (not one turn) gives me the 10-15 jump. The new code is making the car go up in speed like that... night and day difference! __________________ 2LT Rodriguez CA ARNG TURBO 96' Sport, Alaska Blue, Auto Custom JohnBoy Turbo, Midnight-Tunning Software, HKS BOV, e-Pod Gauge Pod, BavAuto Springs, Bilstein Sport, e30 3.73 LSD, Depo P36, Apexcone 55w HID, OEM Spoiler, M3 Lip, M3 Mesh Grill, Crossdrilled Rear Rotors, M3 Front Brakes, Sparco 3 point Harness, Euro M3 Wheel, K&N cone, Clear Corner/Sides/Tails, M3 Center Console & Arm-rest, M3 Red Cluster Needles, M3 Mirrors & Side Skirts, RD Exhaust, DS-1 wheels!... | | | 03-13-2012, 04:39 AM | #305 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Luis, not sure if you've experienced this yet, but most driving schools will teach you not to just "let off" when you feel the rear wheels getting loose. Unless you're going perfectly straight, letting off the throttle suddenly can actually cause the car to whip or regain traction abruptly causing a chain reaction of overcorrecting. Instead you want to gradually ease off the throttle while gently steering into it until it corrects itself. Any sudden or abrupt actions will send these cars spinning. I know you're responsible and taking it easy right now, but when the time comes, just keep a calm head and play it cool. When the roads are wet, it can happen at any second with no warning. Also FWIW, you don't need to copy the embedded code to post youtube videos. Just go up to the address bar and copy the "v=" code (in this case jmO2C1wYiZM) then paste it and wrap "youtube" tags around it Last edited by cooljess76; 03-13-2012 at 05:10 AM. | | | 03-13-2012, 04:54 AM | #306 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2008 Location: Central Florida Posts: 678 | Quote: Originally Posted by cooljess76 Luis, not sure if you've experienced this yet, but most driving schools will teach you not to just "let off" when you feel the rear wheels getting loose. I've had my run at the skid pad All you hear on the vid is engine noise coupled with boost, wastegate, and BOV... exhaust note is negligible! RD exhaust went really quite after the install of the turbo, and of course it still has the cat converter. A long time ago I had a nice wet spin on a highway (2001 M Roadster)...it was crazy! Thankfully I was on my own on the road and didn't hit anything. I have had much more spirited driving experience since then, and some "training" as well... Do appreciate the concern brother! __________________ 2LT Rodriguez CA ARNG TURBO 96' Sport, Alaska Blue, Auto Custom JohnBoy Turbo, Midnight-Tunning Software, HKS BOV, e-Pod Gauge Pod, BavAuto Springs, Bilstein Sport, e30 3.73 LSD, Depo P36, Apexcone 55w HID, OEM Spoiler, M3 Lip, M3 Mesh Grill, Crossdrilled Rear Rotors, M3 Front Brakes, Sparco 3 point Harness, Euro M3 Wheel, K&N cone, Clear Corner/Sides/Tails, M3 Center Console & Arm-rest, M3 Red Cluster Needles, M3 Mirrors & Side Skirts, RD Exhaust, DS-1 wheels!...
