Hey everybody, just another bored late night question from me. Here in upstate New York I don't get to see too many nice cars on a daily basis. However my neighbor, back in October, bought a 1 Series M Coupe and forever ruined my days home. Other than that there really aren't any truly nice cars around me, hell I get exited whenever I see an M3 in any condition. On occasion, (only the most perfect summer days) I see an original E24 M6 in pristine condition, and whenever theres an event at Watkins Glen International I see some really neat stuff, but nothing on a daily basis. Theres a bunch of old guys who have vettes or challengers and a couple of sick stangs but not much else. I almost think that my family has the most unique cars around. My uncle (who races professionally for ford) has a Ford GT, a '69 Mach 1, a '04 Mach 1, a '09 Cobra Jet and an insane '08 Mustang GT with a whipple supercharger and lots of other track bits (plus his race cars 2 FR500Cs, 2 Boss 302Rs and a few older Mustangs). My dad and I co-own a '68 Mustang Coupe with a 289, he's got his first car a '70 1602, and of course the '99 ti and my '02 325ci. My question for you is what nice or cool cars do you see on a daily basis? __________________ 1999 BMW 318ti 2005 MINI Cooper S | | | 06-01-2012, 04:27 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2004 Location: Sydney, Australia Posts: 593 | I work in the city in Sydney Australia near the financial side of town so I see quite a lot of exotics everyday. On a daily basis I'd at least see a 911, E9x M3, C63 AMGs, Aston Martins. On a weekly basis I'd see Lamborghini's Gallardos, an Aventordor last week. Ferraris 458s, 599s, Maserati's, Bently's, R35 GTRs, Lotus Elise. I can't wait till I get my own exotic sports car Last edited by RAiMA; 06-01-2012 at 07:45 AM. | | | 06-01-2012, 04:44 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: Ft Defiance, AZ Posts: 686 | Damn. I forgot that somebody around me has a R35 GTR but the only time that I see really nice stuff is during SCCA Grand Nationals and the Vintage Grand Prix at Watkins Glen where you see all sorts of AMAZING old cars like: an Alfa Romeo 8C2900 coupe a Ferrari 275 a BMW 2002 (not really rare but its cool) an Alfa Romeo GTV6 a BMW 3.0 CSL another BMW 3.0 CSL some crazy Maserati that I don't know (if anyone does that would be great to know!) a very old Alfa Romeo Formula One Car __________________ 1999 BMW 318ti 2005 MINI Cooper S | | | 06-01-2012, 05:01 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: norcal - 94590 Posts: 3,186 | In the office complex where I work there is a guy who rotates his commute cars between his Ferrari 308 and his vintage Morgan. Otherwise it's just the normal freeway commuter cars that I see daily... __________________ James 95 active w/leather interior and sport interior conversion, Vaders, full M-Tech exterior conversion. There is oil money in town and a BMW dealership, so I see some nice 3 and 5 series examples, but nothing exotic, and all are either silver, black or white. I see a Boston green and a white ti from time to time. Neatest car in town is a wintergreen Z3M coupe owned by a an active duty pilot out at Sheppard AFB, just north of town. Wintergreen is a, "strange" color, but I like it. | | | 06-01-2012, 06:07 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: Ft Defiance, AZ Posts: 686 | 100,000 people is more than the combined population of the two counties Ive lived in...... I was born in Watkins Glen New York, famous for hosting the first post WWII race in america, hosting the USGP F1 race and now *cough* NASCAR, where a lovely 2,500 people live. Moved to Odessa when I was three, not the Texas Odessa but rather a small village 5 miles outside of Watkins home to a whopping 675 people. Lived there till I was 13 or so when I moved to Horseheads which is 15 miles south of Watkins and is home to 6,500 people, not exactly a populous area so seeing cool cars is always a highlight of the day. __________________ 1999 BMW 318ti 2005 MINI Cooper S | | | 06-01-2012, 06:38 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: MD/PA/DC Posts: 1,629 | I drive across MD to DC every day. See all kinds of stuff. Quattroporte in the garage, but it's beat to hell, lots of mercs, 911's, few teslas, Elises, street rods.... There is a clean 850 and a Esprit Turbo in the garage also. __________________ No more ti. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
