How many do you need? | | | 09-03-2011, 01:39 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Portland Or Posts: 2,666 | I was thinking they were all different, but It just occurred to me that if I had 1 with the longest wire I could use it as the test one, then only have to spend real money on the one that's bad? As far as I know there is no code that you can read outside the dealer that will tell which sensor is bad..? any body know for sure? Any ABS system diag tricks most appreciated! Dave, like you said, I'd just find one with the longest wire and use it to troubleshoot. Only problem is that I've yet to see a front sensor come out in one piece. They usually fuse themselves to the spindle(kingpin) and fall apart when you try to remove them. If you find a way to remove them without damaging them, LMK I'm very interested. The rears are much easier. | | | 09-03-2011, 02:45 AM | #8 | Member Join Date: Jul 2011 Location: okc Posts: 37 | Yup sorry that was my mistake on that. I just dont feel like taking anything apart this week... I do not see why they would break apart unless they were not functional to begin with. I will have a whole set of used ones available next week. | | | 09-04-2011, 06:16 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Portland Or Posts: 2,666 | Quote: Originally Posted by jiggerjosh never had a problem removing them. I'm hoping I find damage to one or the wire that's obvious so I don't have to play musical chairs swapping them around. I also have not found anyway to test them searching around. Youd think its just a hall effect sensor. Should be a resistance or something to measure...
