Default Goood Questions !! Alarm system..!!

Ha-ha...

I had an experience yesterday.... Winter is Coming, and I am Now working in
Downtown Milwaukee, ( Read in "Crime ridden" ) I have a 96ti, (Base)

So I Deciede to go and get an autostart system, (Viper)
It has Keyless entry, Remote Start, And Car finder, And its an Alarm.

The Professional shop quoted me about a 2-3hr Job....So I decieded to
Just wait...8 hours later I was still there and Tired !!

I have to go back on monday, Still is not working right.

1st Problem, The Parking lights STAY on for some odd reason once you arm the alarm, and Wont go off. (didnt know this timm I went home and had to
go back) they just pulled the brain on the box to solve this (it was 11pm)
I guess they have to wire in special relays ?!?

2nd problem Auto Start Will start the car, but the car shuts back off.

Any Idea why ?!? Let me tell you... Our Cars have a chip in the key that sends an Electronic Impulse through the ignition to tell the car the key (the proper key is in the slot) So I need to sacrafice my spare key, it has to go into a special black box, connected to a relay, that when I auto start my car it will read the frequency (?!?) from the key in the hidden black box and then anoher wire is tied into the ignition to fool the car to think the key is in the slot. (Holy Cow) Which means I will not have a spare key.

Did anyone else run into these problems ?!?

Im tired... I may type more later about this saga....

This is an ALARM shop doing the install, and Every wire document they had on this Bmw from there expensive programs was wrong, so the had to search for and test almost every wire.... Ouch !!

-Robb...

Ps. Any simmular experiences ?!?

I don't have any similar experiences, but it's really cool to hear about the chip in the key! I've been thinking of getting a better alarm and it's good to know BMW already has so many bult in features.
