Default skimming a m44 bock

i have am m44 that i am going to build for my rally car, i wanted a m47 crank for it but them seem to be hard to get.

so option 2 is just to skim the block and get the compression up, but i was told by a guy who builds engines taht it would create headaches due to teh ciming chain covers...

is that true?

i want about 11.5:1

i also have s52 3000cc pistons for it.

Is there any other pistons i could use that are taller? I have heard of vauxhall ones, but i havnt a clue which.

Also, reving to 7,000 do you need arp bolts?

is there any other tuning tips you could give me please?

thanks

Do not deck the block the timing chain bolts won't fit on the head bolt pattern. You can mill a little off the heads and get your compression that way. 7,000 on stock rob bolts is what I ran boosted @ 15psi but if you are going to be slinging bigger pistons then I would suggest the upgraded bolts.
